Pools

Pools are specialized collections of materials that rotate among participating libraries on a set schedule. Participation is open to all public libraries in Ontario for a fee that covers the cost of the Pool.

Ontario Library Service polls Ontario’s public libraries for their interest in new pools. We organize the RFQ process for selection of materials, purchasing of items, initial processing, and coordination of the rotation schedule(s).

Participating libraries benefit by providing new and fresh content in a specialized format to their users on a regular basis. Participation also provides a library with the opportunity to try new formats and determine their suitability to user preferences.

Large Print Pool

• Term: June 2024- June 2026.
• Rotations: Quarterly (December, March, June, and September). 
• Cost: $825.00 per block. (20 titles). 

Membership is now closed for this pool but will reopen in 2026.

Book Club Pool

• Term: October 2023- October 2025.
• Rotations: Quarterly (October, January, April, and July). 
• Cost: $300.00 per block. 

Membership is now closed for this pool but will reopen in August 2025.
